"around every corner" is an experimental game about navigating a maze with unknown horrors just out of sight.
The white area is the where you are safe to go. It is where you can see, and places you remember.
Your confidence quickly fades, however.
Where you can't see doesn't stay safe for long.
Various obstacles obscure your vision and block your path, but all you can see of them is their absence from your field of view.
Apply metaphor to taste.

I've made some mechanics changes and added a new level which should make it more playable.
